Annabelle’s life wasn’t perfect, but it was full—full of friends, family, love. And a boy…whose attention Annabelle found flattering and unsettling all at once.

Until that attention intensified.

Annabelle is running. Running from the pain and the tragedy from the past year. With only Grandpa Ed and the journal she fills with words she can’t speak out loud, Annabelle runs from Seattle to Washington, DC and toward a destination she doesn’t understand but is determined to reach. With every beat of her heart, every stride of her feet, Annabelle steps closer to healing—and the strength she discovers within herself to let love and hope back into her life.

Annabelle’s journey is the ultimate testament to the human heart, and how it goes on after being broken.

I new this book was going to make me cry however i did not know how much nor how my feelings were going to be during my reading time. I heard of A Heart in a Body in the World from Meltotheany when she was doing her youtube video’s (deeply miss those videos).

I had no idea what i was emotionally walking into to be honest, all i new was about the crying. I also don’t like to read to much into a book just go in without knowing anything and see how you like it! Which i did and was amazed to have found the main character dealing with anxiety, ptsd, depression and guilt. I have also been/am going though some of this, so to see it in a book i am reading i always love especially seeing how they try to deal with theirs.

“Oh, every person is a book with chapters. Some are glorious and some are dark and ugly. Every person survives something.”

The starting of this book was a bit to get into as when i read the beginning i felt like i left off somewhere else which i have never read that type of starting before so i did find it very interesting. While i do not know much or have any idea of running marathons or running in general i am very glad id dived into A Heart in a Body in the World. Her emotions she has been dealing with had hit home and knowing what she was doing to help deal with them was amazing.

My favorite character/s has to have been Annabelle’s grandpa he is literally hilarious and what i love to seen in any grandpas.

“What the hell is this place? Mi fa cagare! I’m gonna have nightmares.”

With how this book turned out i am very pleased with the outcome, even with the SAD part which i cried. I mean i had a red nose, tears running down my cheeks and just in shock of one graphic area the author had written. However those were what you were reading up to, i mean it would be pretty boring if non of that had happened. I will indeed be reading more from this author.
